River

Grand River Records started with a pretty simple idea: create the kind of place where I’d actually want to spend my days.

I wanted to build a space where I could end the day feeling like I’d accomplished something, without it ever really feeling like work — surrounded by good music, interesting people and things that make me happy.

Records and music are obviously a big part of that, but they’re not the whole story. I want the shop to be a curated collection of things I genuinely like — good tunes, books, art, toys, games, things that make laugh or smile and whatever else brings me some joy and feels like it belongs here.

More than anything, I want it to be a place where nobody is in a hurry. Where you can flip through the bins, find the record you came in looking for and leave with three you didn’t know you wanted. Maybe something else catches your eye along the way.

Small. Independent. Local. Welcoming. A little nostalgic, without being stuck in the past.

Come in. Dig around. Stay awhile.
